The Southeast Iowa Hamfest conducts exams under the ARRL VEC. All exam elements are administered. Walk-in candidates accepted. Exam requirements

The Muscatine Area Volunteer Examiners conduct exams under the ARRL VEC. All exam elements are administered. Walk-in candidates accepted, pre-registration is requested. Exam requirements

The Davenport Radio Amateur Club (DRAC) conducts exams under the ARRL VEC. All exam elements are administered. Preregistration is required and may be done during the 10 days that precede any session, up to 1800 hours on the night preceding the exam. Preregistration provides efficient scheduling for the computers that are used to administer the exams and minimizes waiting time and distractions to candidates actually being tested. Call or E-mail K9AYK (above).

Candidates with special or accommodative testing requirements should make those needs known at the time of preregistration.

The DRAC exam team does conduct special examinations upon request. Requests should be made at least two weeks prior to the desired date and may be directed to K9AYK. This period provides the time to assemble a test team, arrange for a site and to provide the necessary public notifications. Unless special needs dictate, special exam sessions are also open to other candidates. Exam requirements

The Green River Valley Amateur Radio Society conducts exams under the ARRL VEC. All exam elements are administered. Walk-in candidates accepted, no pre-registration required. Exam requirements

Requirements for all exam sessions:

• NCVEC Form 605 must be completed by the candidate and will be provided at the site.
  It may also be downloaded from the ARRL VEC.
• Examinees must present photo ID or two other forms of ID.
• Social Security Number (or a corresponding FCC Licensee ID).
• If licensed, bring original and photocopy of current FCC license and / or CSCEs. The FCC Universal Licensing System has provisions for printing a copy of your license from your computer. The ARRL VEC has affirmed that this copy is sufficient for VE use.
• Grandfather credit is available for some current or previously licensed individuals. Complete details can be found at: ARRL VEC's Grandfather Credit page.
  
• ARRL and W5YI exam fee for 2008 is $14.00, W4VEC exam fee is $12.00.
